Stoltz, who was ordained in 1973, is accused in one lawsuit of sexual
abuse of a teen-age boy. Stoltz had undergone counseling, been evaluated
and been placed on a restricted ministry in 1990 after an individual came
to the Archdiocese of Louisville with an allegation of sexual abuse from
the 1970s. On June 17 Archbishop Thomas C. Kelly removed Stoltz from his
job as sacramental moderator at St. William parish after the nation's
bishops adopted a new, tougher policy on sexual abuse. Stoltz did not
return a call seeking comment.
