Neeson, who died in 1966, is named in one lawsuit -- the only lawsuit
in which the plaintiff is representing himself. According to an obituary,
Neeson had been a priest for 76 of his 99 years and had been pastor of
St. Denis on Cane Run Road for almost 30 years. He retired in 1957.
PLAINTIFF: Joseph Glenn Eberenz (declined to be interviewed)
AGE: 59
ADDRESS: Kentucky State Reformatory, La Grange
OCCUPATION: Prisoner. Convicted in 1996 of forgery, sexual
abuse, being a persistent felon, theft by unlawful taking over $300, two
charges of fraudulent use of a credit card, two robbery charges. Convicted
in 1987 of robbery and being a persistent felon.
FILED SUIT: June 5
DEFENDANT: Archdiocese of Louisville
DATE AND LOCATION OF ALLEGED ABUSE: Initially said 1954-55,
but later in an affidavit said 1951-52; St. Denis parish
ACCUSATION: Molestation
DETAILS OF ALLEGATION: Eberenz's suit said he was an
altar boy and was abused after Mass.
WAS ANYONE TOLD? Eberenz said he told his mother, who
called the archdiocese. Eberenz said his mother said she was told Neeson
would be investigated.
