Ewing, who left the priesthood in 1977 after serving at St. Vincent de Paul, is accused of abuse in one suit. Ewing, who is now an aide to Alderman Steve Magre, has denied the accusation. [A mistrial was declared on 9/3/04 by Jefferson Circuit Court Judge McKay Chauvin after the jury deadlocked, reportedly 11 to 1, in the rape and sodomy trial of Ewing.
